Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash Extensions

I wear makeup everyday, but my overall look is fairly minimal. When I wash my hair, I let it air dry and wear it down or up in a ponytail/topknot. I spend little-to-no time on my hair.

While my morning hair routine is quick, I can’t quite take as many shortcuts with my makeup. For me, if I look tired I feel tired. Even when I receive a full nights rest, my undereye circles are still deep purple. It’s simply my genetics. Mix dark circles with straight blonde eyelashes and you end up with tired looking eyes!

(This collaboration shows my eyes without any mascara.)

Despite my best efforts at trying mascara after mascara, achieving a bright-eyed look is always challenging. Especially with my blonde lashes, darker and thicker lashes instantly pulls me together! If only I could make the process easier. So, in the blurry postpartum days, eyelash extensions sounded ideal for me.

Strawberry Picking

^ Strawberry picking from last weekend.

Jordan and I had a pretty picturesque weekend and whenever we have several days off together (even when we’re still working on projects) I have a difficult time transitioning back to a normal schedule. Our time as a twosome is coming to an end and I’m soaking it all up.

My 33 week appointment was yesterday and the reality of Baby Yoshi’s arrival being in single digits is finally settling in. I began the paperwork needed for my leave and while I’m so thankful I have leave, trying to get all of my questions answered has been challenging! I was transferred to three different departments and I’m still waiting on a few answers.

To top it all off, I ruined several of Jordan’s shirts in the wash when I spilled bleach all over the floor yesterday afternoon. To say I’m looking forward to the weekend is an understatement.

Onto the links!

Weekend Links / / Gluten Make Up

gf_banana_bread

/ / I did a little gluten-free baking this week: chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. I was pretty proud of myself for how they each turned out. Baking is really all about the recipe you choose to use, so the originators get all of the credit. I still have several more bananas that need to be used, so I think Minimalist Baker’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bread is next on my list.

/ / My photography journey has been trial, error and a bit of luck. I have found that using food as my subject allows me to try different angles, settings, and locations without the fear that the item will walk away. Elizabeth shared several great tips that I’m excited to begin working on.

/ / Serial Parody on Funny or Die.

/ / Make up and hair tips for glasses wearers. My favorite look is a top knot with a bold lip.

/ / Five, easy, DIY garlands from A Beautiful Mess. I’ll be visiting after Christmas sales to purchase bauble ornaments to make one of these!

/ / Bek wrote beautifully on Advent.

“This is what Christmas is. It set the stage for how He would save the world. Joy & pain. Faithful & forsaken. Silence & angels. Darkness & light. Loved & hated. Miracles occurring & treks across deserts. Fully man & fully God. Death gives birth to life.”

Wishing you a beautiful and relaxing weekend.
