Zuma Beach in Malibu

Jordan and I spent 2.5 weeks in April and May of 2016 driving the coast of California. If you’d like to start at the beginning click here.

Zuma Beach

Malibu is about a 30 minute drive from Venice Beach on the Pacific Coast Highway. Jordan and I knew we could easily fit both of these cities into one day. So after exploring Venice Beach we made our way north towards Malibu!

Beverly Hills, that’s where I want to be…

Beverly Hills California

Our West Coast trip began in Southern California and ended in Northern California. Usually, our stateside trips involve one major city at a time but I really enjoyed exploring different parts of California. Besides my home state of Illinois, I’ve now seen more of California than any other state.

Although Jordan and I stayed closer to the coast, I still feel like I got good glimpses into the personalities of regions of southern, central and northern California. I discovered that Southern California is more my speed but the views as you drive the Pacific Coast Highway towards San Francisco are unbeatable. But that is post for another day. Today we are going to talk about Beverly Hills!

The Hills from Up High

Hollywood Hills

Greetings from California! Currently, Jordan and I are relaxing in San Francisco after a busy few days driving the Pacific Coast Highway. But before I go into all of that, let’s backtrack to our first exploration day amongst the Hollywood Hills.

Our general vacation planning involves breaking down areas of interests while leaving the daily start and end times open. Finlay & Co. Sunglasses

I’m currently sitting in a hotel room in San Luis Obispo, CA watching A Cinderella Story. Jordan and I just finished exploring and eating dinner at the famous SLO farmers market. I’m excited to share the pint of Häagen-Dazs rocky road ice cream that is currently sitting in our room freezer. In my opinion, there is no better way to end a night then to eat ice cream straight from the carton. We’re only halfway through our drive along the Pacific Coast Highway and I’m already smitten. Viewing the Pacific Ocean as we drive through the mountains is simply dreamy. It’s all so grand.

Our week in Southern California was beautiful and busy. I feel like I haven’t even had a chance to process it all, but thankfully we have photos! I can’t wait to share more of our trip in the coming weeks. But right now, Snapchat (Username: Catherine.Short) and Instagram are the best places to keep up with our daily adventures.

Onto the links!
