TEN | A Decade of Marriage

TEN | A Decade of Marriage

Five years ago Jordan and I celebrated our anniversary in Paris. Tonight, after Phoenix is asleep, we’ll pour ourselves a glass of wine, plate takeout and watch a The Shape of Water. Not quite as glamorous, but that’s not really the point. The point is we have one another. And don’t worry, we’re celebrating in bigger (more tropical) ways later on this year. 🙂

I certainly am not an expert on marriage, but if I can leave you with one piece of advice it’s this. Be open to work on your ish. We’re in for a bumpy ride if we’re always looking at what our partners needs to fix. I am a better,  more gracious, wife when I am working on softening my edges.

It sounds cliche to say, “how has it been a decade already?!” But, really, my wedding day feels like yesterday and also an entire lifetime ago. I hope it always feels like yesterday.

  1. Congratulations you two!! Enjoy your subtle celebrations tonight (which sound perfect honestly!) and I can’t wait to hear where you’re going later this year!

  2. OMG congraaaaaats!!!! 10 is such a big deal!! We’re only at year 6 but it feels like the same thing: “it feels like our wedding was yesterday/a lifetime ago!”

How exciting to be celebrating somewhere tropical soon!! 🙂
