Weekend Links / / A Natural Guide to Being an Adult

^ Slightly out of focus, but I’m in love with his grin.

Jordan’s parents are here for a quick visit. They leave early Saturday morning, so we’re spending the day in Franklin, TN. Franklin is about 30 miles south of Nashville and is full of cute little restaurants and shops. Think southern Stars Hallow. Jordan and I both have been to Franklin separately many times, but we haven’t gone all as a family.

On a completely unrelated note, I’ve been thinking a lot about being an adult. Okay, go with me for a minute. You know how when you are a kid you can’t wait to be an adult — to do what you want and when you want. Somewhere a long the line I forgot I am in control — not social media or social expectations. I don’t need to delete insert social media forum off my phone, I need to put the phone down and pick up a book. I want to read, but I’ve lied to myself that I don’t have the time.

Social media is one example. My house is more clean and I am crossing things off my to-do list. So, don’t forget the agency you have in your life.

Onto the links!

Ebates | I do a lot of online shopping (just like the rest of you) and while I had an Ebates account I wasn’t using it. In case you are unfamiliar, Ebates is a rebate website that works with many retailers. I immediately made a Vitacost purchase. What vitamins and supplements do you use regularly? I am terrible at taking vitamins daily, but I’m 30. I need to step it up!

I’m particularly excited about the probiotic I bought. Abbey shared on Instastory how probiotics helped clear old cystic acne scaring.

Acai Bowl Tips + Favorite Recipes | Trader Joe’s now sells acai packets! I attempted to make my first bowl last week, but I had a hard time figuring out the right consistency. I added too much liquid. Nelle shared her favorite recipes and while this one is a smoothie, I like the idea of adding mango and pineapples.

Speaking of mango, I gave Phoenix frozen mango in his mess strainer and he was not a fan! I’m trying to wean him off of the bananas as they cause constipation.

Lime & Gin Moscow Mules | Jordan and I always have gin and limes around. Next time I am at Trader Joe’s I am going to purchase ginger beer.

A Natural Guide to Clean Your Hardwoods | Now that I live in a home and aren’t moving to another apartment in a year, I need to step-up my cleaning tool arsenal. Nothing deters me from cleaning properly than not having the right tools.

The Poshmark Series | Stephanie is breaking down the reasons why selling clothes and accessories on Poshmark might be for you. I have cleaned out my closet pretty thoroughly, but now I have piles to sort for donation and/or selling.

Happy Weekend, all!

  1. I need to look at Ebates. I see people on Facebook sharing their savings and rebates all the time but I’ve never even clicked over to learn more.

  2. I have an Ebates account, but I shop online so rarely that when I do, I typically forget to use it! I tend to be more the type that has to see something in real life to buy it.

  3. Ebates is the BEST. They have a thing now where you can integrate it right into your browser (I use Chrome), and a little banner will pop up when you’re on a site that has Ebates, so you can just click on it to activate. I was pretty religious about using it, but this is even easier to get that $$ back!

And I need to check out that Poshmark article. I’ve never done it, but now that I don’t have any good consignment shops near me anymore, I think I’m going to have to investigate further. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Ebates is awesome! I tend to forget about them sometimes, but I used the site religiously during my Christmas shopping and earned a nice chunk of cash back!
