Accomplishing | As you are reading this Phoenix and I are on our way back from an extended weekend in St. Louis. We visited my brother and his family and my friend, who recently had her second baby.

This was the first time Phoenix and I went on a trip together and the first time I was alone with Phoenix away from our house. Jordan has left Phoenix and I before for a work trip, but it’s different when you leave your surroundings. I had this weekend planned for weeks and I feel really accomplished it all worked out! With Five kids between three families, I kept thinking someone would get sick!

Feeling | Motivated to organize and purge! I tend to have a desire to spring clean right when I actually need to focus on taxes. We finished filing our taxes right before I left for St. Louis, so now I can focus on organizing.

Thank you for the suggestions on Instagram. I purchased a daily to-do notepad from Target for testing purposes. I’m not sure what I bought is actually what I need, but that’s why I purchased it from their Dollar Spot.

Needing | My haircut and colored! Thankfully, I am going tomorrow to have it all freshened up. I purposely planned this since I knew I’d want a little break after being away with Phoenix. 😉

Practicing | This is a tough prompt. I’m not sure I am practicing anything?

Pinning | I have a Pinterest board called Arrange. It’s basically pretty photos of home organization which I love glancing at, but I’m terrible at implementing. I mostly pin baskets full of blankets and jewelry displayed on dressers.

  1. Yeah, because spring cleaning is sooooo much more fun than taxes! Unlucky for my house, we got our taxes sent in early this year, so that procrastination motivation isn’t there anymore, ha. And so glad to hear your trip worked out well – it’s easy to just skip out on stuff like that because it can be a lot of work or overwhelming, but way to give it a go. Spending time with family and friends ends up being worth it (but hair salon rewards after you get home are very appropriate too!).

  2. Woohoo for your first solo trip somewhere with the little man! I haven’t done that yet either but maybe soon I’ll be confident enough too 😉 I’m going to follow your Pinterest board too- I love looking at nicely organized stuff. Especially with moving into a new house soon, I’m excited to start fresh with getting everything in order how we want!

  3. I love seeing the way people organize their kitchens. Sort of similar to your arrange board, but more how they put together their visible shelves, coffee stations, etc. I can’t wait until we have a home we can truly make ours.

I’m so glad nobody got sick on your trip! And I’m glad you guys had a good time, even if Phoenix doesn’t seem to love long car rides.

    1. I love open shelves in kitchens. We’re contemplating putting up shelves in our bedroom (which has slanted walls) and I was searching for ideas on Pinterest.

  4. I like your strategy of planning a hair appointment for when you get back as a treat and time to yourself – that’s genius! 🙂 It’s been awhile since we’ve done a trip that’s more than a weekend just a few hours away but the last big trip definitely opened my eyes to the fact that traveling with a little one is not a vacation – ha!

  5. I love the pinterest board comment about “terrible about implementing.” I’m right there with you. I have a bunch of pins of how I was going to make my life easier being home on mat leave with a baby and a toddler, and even started drafting blog posts about how revolutionary they are. The only problem is I haven’t started any of them, and I’m about halfway done my mat leave! Here’s hoping one day we’ll have the pin-perfect houses eventually 😛
