San Francisco | Brunch at Plow

Jordan and I spent 2.5 weeks in April and May of 2016 driving the coast of California. If you’d like to start at the beginning click here.

After exploring San Francisco by bus, we met fellow blogger, Kelly, for brunch at Plow on our last full day. Afterwards, Jordan and I spent the afternoon exploring, shopping and eating ice cream in the Mission district. As always, we took too many photos to put our day all in one post. First up, brunch at Plow!

I can’t remember exactly how it played out, but I messaged Kelly on SnapChat mentioning I was visiting San Francisco. She asked if we had any free time and suggested brunch at one of her favorite spots, Plow, in the Potrero Hill area. If you are in San Francisco I highly suggest eating brunch at Plow. The food is all locally sourced and the vibe is casual enough for kids. They even let me take my coffee to go. 🙂

Side note: there are more dogs in San Francisco than kids!

We went on a Wednesday morning, so the wait wasn’t too long, but the restaurant is small so expect to wait if you come on the weekends. All good brunch spots are going to have a long wait on the weekends.

Kelly and Jordan each had the plow (two eggs with choice of house made pork sausage patties, Nueske’s bacon, or chicken apple sausage, two lemon ricotta pancakes + plow potatoes). At 3o weeks pregnant, the amount of food I could consume, at one time, significantly decreased so I chose their house made granola. The granola sat atop creamy whole milk yogurt but I also stole several bites of Jordan’s lemon ricotta pancakes.

Kelly is a talented food + lifestyle blogger. She takes killer flatlay photos for Instagram. Oh, and she is a pediatrician! It was fun hour talking blogging, travel, and life.

After brunch, Jordan and I walked to the top of the street and caught a great view of San Francisco. There were the cutest and brightest little houses along the way. It reminded me of this street in Kensington, London. Obviously, we had to take a bunch of photos before walking back down.

We explored a few shops in the area, including clothing and bookstores, before making our way west towards the Mission neighborhood.

What do you like to order when you go out for brunch?

  1. I must admit that I spend the majority of my trip planning figuring out what awesome places we’re going to eat at. And now I kind of want to plan a trip to San Francisco around this. Peter would totally get the plow and I would steal his pancakes – those sound amazing!

  2. Super pretty! Hubby and I have a place in the Bay area, next time we’re in SFO I’ll have to stop in at Plow. It’s my kind of brunch restaurant for sure!

  3. Love those big windows in Plow and the beautiful photography inside to catch the feel and vibe of it! San Francisco is such a unique city. We’re hoping to go visit my husband’s oldest brother and family in June again 🙂 Maybe we’ll stop by Plow!

  4. That sounds delicious! I can’t resist finding good brunch wherever I travel. I’m not huge on lemon, but I do love ricotta, and I’m also very hungry at the moment so I’m sure I’d devour them. 😉
