^ My daily sidekick.

The beginning of January already feels like a breathe of fresh air after a busy December. Jordan and I love watching Phoenix grow and discover new things. So far, five months is a really fun age. This year has so many opportunities and possibilities, I look forward to exploring them further!

Meanwhile, currently in January…

Gathering | Our collection of artwork and wall decor. Jordan and I are discussing and planning where to hang them in our house. Unintentional blank walls leave me feeling unsettled!

Making | My 2017 reading list. I wasn’t able to read quite as much as I hoped last year, but I’m ready to get back to it! What books are you reading right now? I’m still working through Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between) by Lauren Graham.

Sipping | Coffee and lots of it. Christmas evening my friend Lauren made delicious Moscow mules which I am still thinking about.

Following | Moms on Instagram. Comparison and social media have the ability to go hand-in-hand but when done right, it also leads to wonderful support. I’ve had moms reach out and offer a listening ear or answer questions I may need answered. It’s nice to follow moms of babies around the same age. It’s like a virtual playgroup!

Resolving | In an effort to be intentional while Phoenix sleeps, I resolve to practice yoga three times a week and read two books a month. I’m still working through the specifics of my personal and professional goals for 2017, but I know strengthening my body and quieting my mind benefits all areas of my life.

Yoga with Adrienne is offering a 31 Day Revolution for the month of January. I haven’t started it yet, but I’m going to follow the routines to get back into a regular yoga practice.

  1. I want to be doing more yoga too – thanks for sharing that resource! And it’s amazing what a difference hanging some things on the walls can make for helping a home feel settled. I was really happy when I finally got around to that after our move.

Also your sidekick is too cute!

  2. You have the cutest baby name! I also get crazy over blank spaces I have to have photos or quote. Just something! I NEED TO READ THAT LAUREN GRAHAM BOOK!!! I hear so much about it, I just finished all of Gilmore Girls so why not get a little more from the woman who owned Lorelai Gilmore>!

  3. I feel like our lives are mirrors! I’m also trying to be more intentional with my time (a never-ending effort), read more, and fill up my blank walls. I’m so scared to hang anything! I just finished reading The Nightingale, which was just meh, and I’m going to start on When Breath Becomes Air. How are you enjoying Talking as Fast as I Can?

    1. I just finished Talking as Fast as I Can. If you like Gilmore Girls, you’ll enjoy it. There are other stories in it but it’s much more of a companion piece for fans vs other celebrity memoirs/essay style books I’ve read.

  4. I’ll have to check out that yoga course, I’ve been looking for a daily one to follow every morning! I’m reading My Life in France by Julia Childs right now and loving it, and I have a long list to get started on after that. 🙂
