Thanksgiving 2016

A Thanksgiving recap, two weeks later!!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It has everything, family, food, football and pie! So much pie! Jordan and I have had a busy four months and we were looking forward to relaxing with family. The eight hour drive to Chicago was our first trip with Phoenix. We learned a lot. Such as, driving through the night only works if you leave on time. Otherwise, you’ll need to spend the night in a small town in Central Illinois. 😉

^ Phoenix turned four months old Thanksgiving weekend, so before the meal Jordan and I ran outside to take a couple photos.

We packed a lot in five days, including a day shopping and eating our way through Chicago. I don’t miss living in the midwest but I do miss living so close to Chicago. It is a special city. I’ll share those pictures later. Toting Phoenix back and forth between our parent’s houses was a little inconvenient at times, but we are really lucky to be able to see everyone!

Our parent’s live about 20 minutes from each other, but we had the actual Thanksgiving meal at my parent’s house. My sister-in-law made the point that this would be the last year of only one table! Next year we’ll need to institute a kids table. It doesn’t seem like all that long ago I was sitting at the kids table with my cousins…

We had the pleasure of announcing our pregnancy around the Thanksgiving table last year. I am already looking forward to next year when Phoenix is toddling around, trying to keep up with his cousins!

^ Part of the spread. My brother and his family came on Wednesday to help my parents with most of the dishes.

  1. Your family looks so happy! How exciting that you announced Phoenix last year and just smiled and imagined what it might be like to have him there with you this year…and here he is! So sweet!
