Holiday Baking

Doing | Baking cookies for the holidays. Lauren shared this chocolate crinkle cookie recipe and it inspired me to begin baking Christmas cookies over the weekend. I was in the throes of morning sickness last year, so my motivation to bake was low. My only attempt were peanut butter cookies with leftover gluten-free flour which was a major fail!

I need to purchase molasses so I can make one of our favorites — molasses spice cookies.

Enjoying | My washing machine! We were without a washing machine for the entire month of November due to measuring errors (us and them) and missed deliveries. The washing machine saga of 2016 is behind me and I am so grateful.

Cooking | My mother-in-law gave me a bunch of dried beans, so I cooked my first batch of chili over the weekend. I keep forgetting to buy cornmeal because I love cornbread with chili, but oh well!

Wrapping | I haven’t started wrapping any gifts yet — eek!

Playing | Christmas music, obviously! Sufjan Stevens and surprisingly, Barbra Streisand are two of my favorites to listen to during the holidays.

Linking with Anne and Kellie.

  1. Those cookie recipes look delicious! I haven’t made any cookies this year & probably won’t but may have to do some baking for my son’s 1st birthday party in early January. Maybe bookmarking these for later!

  2. Isn’t it amazing what a difference a year can make?! Morning sickness this time last year, and now you’ve got a 4-month-old! Those cookies do sound delicious, and I love Sufjan Stevens at Christmas too.

  3. Those cookies sound good. Did you see on snap where I tried making cookies from scratch for the first time in years and thought they weren’t cooking so I overcooked them? Apparently I’m terrible at cookies, but I really want to give these a try!
