Today is my 30th birthday. I am 30 years old. It feels odd typing that sentence out. I thought I would have something profound to say about entering a new decade. But honestly, Phoenix turning six weeks today is far more interesting!
I mourned my late twenties for many reasons. Only now in retrospect do I understand why. I over complicated and worried too much about where life would take me. My season of infertility played a huge part too. Now that my twenties are behind me, I no longer feel like mourning. I still wonder about the different paths life will take me and my family, but I know I have so much ahead of me!
Last year, for Jordan’s 30th and my 29th birthday (yes, we share a birthday!), we celebrated with a big party. This year all I want is a nap, coffee and a manicure. My life is more complicated and yet simpler at the same time.
So, cheers to the decade that’ll offer me far less sleep but much more excitement!
