July

Well, I did it. I made it to July! Baby boy’s birth month! I have so many thoughts swirling in my head, it’s hard to know where to begin. Despite this pregnancy being very intentional, I still find myself feeling overwhelmed by all of the last-minute details. I’m doing my best to have our bases covered, but it’s difficult knowing what one really will needs!

Let’s dive in to July…

Toasting | I will be toasting us at the end of July. Pregnancy is no joke, piece of cake, walk around the block or any number of idioms, but it’s also been a true privilege and honor. I’m proud of myself for making it to the end (especially in this heat) and I’m humbled by Jordan’s ability to pick up the extra slack. He works extremely hard and still takes the time to paint and assemble all of our new baby gear.

Going | We had a rather full weekend, but soon we’ll be secluded for a bit so I welcomed the chances to get out. Jordan and I might be crazy but we bought tickets to the Flight of The Conchords tour and the date is 6 days shy of my due date. Now, if baby Short really wants to come early, we’ll welcome him with open arms, but we’d also love to attend this concert! HA.

Smelling | The grill. We have a shared grill and all of the units in our building look out onto the pool and deck, so anytime someone is grilling the smells waft the whole place!

Wearing | Breezy dresses and flip-flops. My feet are swollen all of the time, so even my trusty Saltwater Sandals won’t fit anymore!

Wishlisting | Birkenstocks, a New York City trip and Turkish rugs on Ebay.

  1. I love this post! Congrats on your son, and yes you definitely deserve a toast at the end of the month when he arrives.

  2. You will be literally and figuratively toasting the end of this month! Exciting. And maybe a good idea to buy the concert tickets… either he’ll come early because of it (like the it only rains when you leave the umbrella at home principle) which will be awesome to have him in your arms, or you’ll get to go to the concert and have something fun to distract you in the last week when you might just want to be done waiting 🙂

  3. eeeep! i bet you can’t wait for little boy to get here! <3 <3
and i am loving those breezy dresses, it is so dang hot so we NEED some cool things!

  4. Hooray for making it to the end! Pregnancy is definitely one of the hardest experiences both physically and emotionally. I hope you get to see your concert, and the rest of your pregnancy is healthy and uneventful.

  5. So exciting that the end of your pregnancy is almost here! My sister had her second child in July and I remember how miserable she was in the heat when she reached the end, but it was definitely an experience she wouldn’t trade for anything else. 🙂

  6. What an exciting time! I would feel so overwhelmed if I were in your shoes–even if I had tried to plan everything as carefully as possible! hahah. Hopefully you get to go to your concert!
