Jenis Ice Cream

It’s the start to a new month in which means another currently post! Share what you are currently up to this June in the comments below.

Planning | My non-work time. As of today I am 33 weeks pregnant. Eek! Depending on my energy level, I’m slowly checking off small tasks around the house. Jordan and I cleared out a lot of unnecessary items in our apartment this weekend, but we still have more organizing to finish.

Enjoying | Slow days that include naps, listening to the Gilmore Guys podcast with Jordan (we’re preparing for the reunion!), throwing junk away and Jenis ice cream dates.

Buying | Furniture. Jordan found two shelving units to replace what we had in our bathroom and put them together over the weekend. These pieces give us so much more storage, which is exactly what we need.

Craving | Watermelons. I’ve eaten one a week for the last few weeks basically all by myself.

Pinning | Baby sleep schedules. I’m gathering general ideas so Jordan and I can come up with something that works for us and our baby. I will return to work so it’ll be important to find a rhythm that works for all parties…most of the time of course!

  1. Watermelon is absolutely the best on these hot days – so refreshing! I’m 29 weeks prego with baby #2 and we are starting to ramp up on getting everything ready! It is so much fun! And I hear you on the sleep schedules – my daughter has always slept great but I’m a little concerned this time around because baby #2 seems to be quite active at night!

  2. The ice cream looks so good! Jeni’s is a favorite of mine. I recently sampled the Intelligentsia Black Cat Espresso. It’s my favorite flavor at the moment. She’s on SnapChat @JeniBritonBauer.

  3. It sounds like you guys are really savoring this summer! Such a sweet time of anticipation. πŸ™‚ Baby sleep schedules are my frenemy — so hard to nail down, but once you do, they make life SO MUCH EASIER. All the praise hands.

  4. I haven’t bought a watermelon yet this year, but that needs to happen soon. Maybe I’ll go get one this evening! And woah girl…33 weeks!? Where did the time go!?

  5. I’m so with you on ice cream dates–we’ve been doing a lot of those lately too. And 33 weeks, how exciting–you’re almost there! I’m 19 weeks along with baby #2 and crossing my fingers she’ll be a good sleeper like her big brother πŸ™‚ I read the book Baby Wise and liked it, but I think it just totally depends on the baby. Good luck with all the prepping and planning, and I hope you get some relaxation in too!

    1. So far the baby wise schedule seems to make the most sense. I baby-sat a girl for 6 months starting when her mother went back to work and she followed the baby wise and it felt rather natural. Of course not every day/nap/night works the same…even adults have bad nights!

  6. I’ve been eating watermelon too! My mom put some in a fruit salad and it was so good. Congrats on being 33 weeks! I hope you enjoy the last bit of pregnancy.

  7. I love ‘currently’ posts and the insights it gives about other people. And how good are ice cream dates? I still love them even now when it’s just kicked over into winter in my neck of the world. Crazy!

  8. Yes to the watermelon!! I have a big bowl already cubed for me for tv time tonight
I can’t believe that you are 33 weeks either – or that I’m 37! How did we get this far in so quickly?!
Sleep schedules are so handy. My only note of caution is some babies take to certain rigidity of schedules more than others. I had one who refused all scheduling and one who loooooved a schedule. (This next one has no choice; she’s just going to be at the mercy of the other two’s schedules ha!)
i hope you continue to feel well!! Xo

    1. Seriously, I have no idea where the last few months went. I’m not a super scheduled person by nature, so I’m thinking more in terms of a general framework but each day won’t run exactly the same, ya know?

  9. There’s always one prompt each month that gets a bunch of the same answers, and it’s cracking me up that it’s watermelon for “craving” this time around. And this shelving situation update sounds so satisfying… makes me want to go organize something just thinking about it πŸ™‚ Happy 33 weeks!!
