I Love Me Some Odeme

Odeme Nail Polish

I recently threw away my old nail polish. My collection dated back to when I worked at a cosmetology school in Chicago, right out of college; they were severely past their prime. Recently, while browsing White’s Mercantile (a cute, modern-day general store near me), I came across the prettiest polish colors with the cutest packaging and the cheekiest names. I couldn’t pass them up!

Odeme knows what’s up. Founded in 2015, they are new to the beauty scene but they have made a huge splash with their line specially designed for the modern girl. I can’t get enough. I purchased three colors (Cinque Terre, The DerbyCuba Lebre) from Odeme’s line, but I want to go back for more!

I’m not able to wear nail polish at work, but I have treated myself to a few manicures when I have consecutive days off in a row. My nails are growing quick and strong thanks to my prenatal vitamins! It’s been a special way to celebrate being pregnant and I plan on getting manicures regularly while on maternity leave.

I haven’t tried many nail polish brands outside of Essie, OPI and China Glaze, so I wasn’t sure how these would wear. When getting a pedicure or manicure, I normally wouldn’t bring in my own color but this time I had the manicurist use the Odeme colors so I could test them out! I knew I wouldn’t get an accurate reading if I tried to paint them myself.

My fingernails are painted in “The Derby” color and I’ve been very pleased with the results. I had to take my nail polish off after five days when I went back to work. During those five days I got a slight chip in the varnish, which easily I touched up myself, but otherwise they wore beautifully.

What are your favorite colors and brands of nail polish?

  1. I love these colors! I love pastels lately and mint and coral are probably my favorite. I don’t really think I have a favorite brand, right now mine are all Esse or Orly nail polishes just because that’s what I’ve been given for gifts! Great post!

  2. Lovely colours! The question is… How in heaven’s name do you get your nail polish SO flawless?! Gosh. Mine looks streaky when I paint my nails. Kudos to you!

    1. I had a manicure but brought my own color! I’d never be able to do this myself. There’s a place by my house where manicures only cost $14 so I occasionally treat myself!

  3. I always go for Essie because I like their colors, but it doesn’t seem to hold up that well. A little better when I bring the polish to a salon, but not that great when I do it on my own. Sometimes I fantasize about just dumping all my old ones (or make up or hair products) and starting fresh as that would feel so nice and decluttered – and these look like fabulous color options to pare down to! Great to know they hold up well to a manicure as well, as I really would like to start exploring more eco-friendly nail polish options.

  4. Those are so pretty!!!
I’m normally an essie girl, but I just love polish… i probably could do some spring cleaning of mine as well.

I’ll need to look into these, the bluey colour is to DIE for!
