Did you all have a good week? I hope you did. The weather is slowly warming up in Nashville (we hit the high 60’s this week!) and farmer’s market season is almost in full swing, both of which hint at a full-blown spring revival just around the corner. Jordan and I celebrated Leap Day by going to the doctor and seeing our sweet baby again. Leap Day will always hold a special place in my heart. 😉
Did I ever mention my dad performed ultrasounds for 14 years? This was in the 70s and 80s when scans were just starting to be used, but generally only for high-risk cases. While my mom was pregnant with my siblings and me, my dad had her come in for scans all the time for fun. Haha! Ultrasounds didn’t become routine until more recently (my mother-in-law only had them on her last pregnancy in 1999). Science is incredible!
Onto the links!
Showtime: The Circus | “The Circus takes viewers behind the scenes of the 2016 Presidential campaigns, featuring the candidates in a more unscripted environment, and the role their staff plays in the long slog that hopefully ends at the White House.”
I hope you, unlike me, remembered to register in time to vote in your state’s Presidential primaries. When you move, so many forms have to be redone and sadly registering in the state in Tennessee slipped my mind! While browsing Hulu this week, we discovered The Circus, Showtime’s ongoing documentary following the 2016 Presidential race. If you subscribe to Showtime I would catch up on it!
Chickpea Tomato Minestrone | Warm, hearty and comforting vegetable soups are some of my favorite things to cook. The ingredients are usually pantry staples and besides chopping a few vegetables it’s fairly hands free. I found a can of chickpeas in my cabinet the same week I stumbled upon this recipe. I cooked the pasta separately so as to give us options and allow me to freeze half.
Momtastic Workouts | My left hip has always caused me problems. It’ll pop and ache after a long day, though it’s never prohibited me from strenuous activity. I simply require stretching (penguin pose is my favorite) to loosen it up. Well, between having to sleep on my side and my hips beginning to move around I needed to find a few low impact exercises that would target this area.
Easy Organization & Cleaning Tips | I’m excited to follow along with Danielle’s spring cleaning series this month. I’m slowly going through drawers and our closet — storing away out of season items — to make room for baby. My cleaning routine is haphazard at best, as my work schedule always fluctuates but I know I need to great a better system.
My Favorite Beauty Products | Marla compiles amazing curated lists. They range from what new books you should read to the best inflight moisturizers. She is constantly introducing me to new brands.
Happy Weekend, all!
