Weekend Links / / Slumping Smoothies

WELD Nashville

Last weekend, after the Warby Parker photoshoot, I chopped off three inches of my hair. Though beautiful, the weight of it was causing slight scalp pain whether it was up or down. Pathetic I know, but it was time for a change and I immediately felt lighter.

Getting back into a normal rhythm this week was a little difficult after our extended snowy weekend. I was off Monday and had to remind myself what day it was for the rest of this week!

On to the Links!

8 Ways to Beat a Creative Slump / / It’s bound to happen, so why not equip ourselves with the tools to avoid a full-on meltdown! One major goal I set for myself this year was to turn to reading instead of my phone when I’m needing distraction.

Two Things To Do Before a Major Transition / / Grace and Space. Simple but so effective. When transition takes place (as it will regularly) it is important to give yourself permission to take a step back from commitments while your adjusting to a new normal.

The Blanket Scarf / / Why don’t I own a blanket scarf?!? I must fix this immediately.

Personality Hack Podcast / / I can’t remember when I first heard of this podcast, but if you have any interest in personality, more specifically the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, you should be listening! Each episode the two hosts dedicate their discussion to one of the 16 specific combinations. This week my type, ESTJ, was the feature.

Smoothie Bowls Three Ways / / Smoothie bowls never made sense to me. Why would you eat a smoothie with a spoon when you could just sip it? Well, apparently smoothie bowls are all about the toppings! Think nuts, seeds, coconut flakes, and even more fruit.

Happy Weekend, all!

  2. I have a blanket scarf but it’s been so mild most of this winter that I haven’t worn it!! At some point maybe…

  3. Oh those podcasts sound so interesting! You always have the best recommendations there, so adding those to my list. And a hair cut is always refreshing – sounds lovely.

    1. Listening to podcasts is in the main reason why I didn’t read/watching TV as much last year! There are a lot of great ones but I need to remember to delve into my other interests too. 😉

  4. Thanks for linking up with me! looks like I have some great reads to catch up on. I am intrigued by the transition post. I think we al can learn to give ourselves some grace when changes come into our lives!

  5. I had three major transitions in 2015 and this 2016, there’s another one coming: moving from the Philippines to the US. The Sobremesa Stories post is so helpful. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on your pregnancy!!
