I’m writing this while Anne of Green Gables is playing in the background and applesauce is simmering on the stove.
When my parents visited for Christmas they left behind a bag of apples from my dad’s trees (To make a quick applesauce: cube the apples, add a smidgen of water, cinnamon and raisins. Simmer until soft! The results are chunkier but much simpler than trying to can in my small kitchen!) Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite movies and I have wanted to own a copy for years and finally this Christmas my wish was granted!
This week Jordan decided to give my little blog space a makeover. We’re still ironing out the kinks but I’m loving the results so far!

Planning a Trip Abroad: The Finances / / I loved following Bridget and her families three-month stay in Italy last year. This was a really interesting look into how they saved and spent while abroad.
French Yogurt Cake / / It seems every pregnant blogger is talking about Bringing up BeBe (a great book by-the-way) but Allie reminded me about the cake recipe featured inside. I bought yogurt and plan on making it this week though I’ve since realized I don’t own a round cake pan. How have I managed that?!
One Little Word 2016: BIG / / Sarah’s words on living big resonate with me. “Everything I read lately is all about small. Live small. Don’t commit to too many things. Less is more. Less is better. Few. Tiny. Only do what’s essential. Little. Say no. I’ve internalized these things to mean, stay small. Don’t go after big goals. Keep your dreams little because little is best. Minimal is best.”
Am I the only one who reads on minimalism and thinks to yourself, “Maybe I’m not living my best life because I can’t simplify and make my world small enough.” I say no to things but I try not to say no to people, to relationships. Maybe desiring “big” is okay because it allows you to bless people.
Traveling Under the Threat of Terror / / Linda shares honestly about the threat of terror and their choice to continue traveling this year.
Happy Weekend, all!
