While editing down my closet, I realized I prefer patterns on my lower half (skirts and pants) instead of patterned tops (plaid shirts are my exception). My friend’s son has recently been requesting to wear camo pants like “Aunty Caphrine” because he saw me wearing mine. Haha!

There is something fun and flirty about a printed skirt. When my friend, Greta, who owns the Five Sparrows Boutique, allowed me to select a few pieces from to photograph, I immediately was drawn to this burgundy skirt with elephants on it. Do yourself a favor and order something fun from her shop!

Because the print has personality of its own, I kept the rest of the look simple with a plain v-neck black t-shirt and my trusty jean jacket. A stripped scarf and my black booties completed the look. If your weather has already reached a wintery bluster, try this outfit with opaque black tights and a cozy turtleneck!

  1. That’s so sweet your friend’s son wants to be like you! Too cute! Isn’t it great when you figure out a part of your personal style? Its like a small victory.

Love your photos! Very well done!

  2. LOVE this skirt, and the great bow detail at the waist. I love a good print on my top or bottom half. It’s definitely a bit too chilly for this look where I am, but tights would totally work with this! I have a cropped jean jacket that has been neglected for ages, I think I shall make a determined effort to wear it again.
