When I first bought this dress, I thought the stripes were black and white. Haha. After a closer look and several wears, I realized it was an extra dark navy and white! Either way I love a stripped dress. I own three, all with varying lengths and styles: a maxi, sleeveless and this short-sleeved shift.
I’ve realized, after taking inventory of my closet and style aesthetic, patterns only work for me in small doses and pants are actually my favorite way to wear prints (here & here). The versatility of stripes and solids are unbeatable and when working with a carefully curated wardrobe. The ability to mix and match with different shoes and outerwear is beneficial.
I played into the sporty feel of this shift dress by pairing it with my Converse Chuck Taylors. Speaking of sporty, have you been watching Wimbledon? I love tennis and it’s in moments like these that I miss cable. Does anyone else feel as though it’s a bit of a conspiracy? Networks air reruns and yet the matches are on ESPN. I’ve only been able to watch a few matches here and there on the internet!
And how about the Women’s World Cup final? Playing soccer, in gym or at summer camp, always gave me a bit of anxiety growing up, but watching it is another story. Jordan and I intended on working while casually watching, but we kept getting pulled back into the excitement!
