Festival Style / / Kimono? Ki-mo-YES!

When Jordan came back from London, he arrived bearing gifts. Jordan loves giving presents — it’s one of the ways he expresses love to those close to him. Gift giving is one of the five love languages outlined in the popular book The Five Love Languages. Have you read it? I highly recommend it, not only for relating to your partner, but anyone close to you. It took me awhile to realize that Jordan was a gift giver and a good one at that!

Jordan purchased this Topshop kimono in London. I’ve worn it a few different ways, but this particular look was inspired by our upcoming attendance to Pitchfork Music Festival — which I’ll talk about more next week!

Kimonos are extremely versatile — they are the warm weather cardigan. I like feeling prepared, so I rarely leave the house without my tote bag (my collection is growing steadily. Haha.). You can easily store a kimono in your bag, so when the sun goes down you have an extra layer handy.

^When attending a music festival, it’s important to check the local weather reports. It rains A LOT in Chicago during the summers, so I knew the only shoes I’d be wearing were my Saltwaters Sandals. Seriously, I can’t say enough good things about Saltwaters!

  1. This kimono is so cute (and the title of your post made me laugh out loud). I like the idea of having this handy for when it gets a little chilly – but I might have to wait for the fall since it’s way too hot out here in the desert!

    1. I laughed to myself as well — glad I wasn’t the only one who found it funny! It’s going to be in the upper 90s for the foreseeable future, so I won’t get a lot of use out of my kimono either!
