Weekend Links / / SE

At the beginning of the year, Jordan and I purchased a few concert tickets. In February, we saw Brooke Fraser at Exit/In and this Wednesday we saw Sylvan Esso at the Cannery Ballroom. We were really anticipating this night and it was a total blast. SE’s debut album was on both of our best music of 2014 lists and their concert was a good sweaty dance party.

It’s nice to have special events planned throughout the year. We’ve found the importance of scheduling fun events throughout the year so we have stuff to look forward to on a regular basis. Spontaneity is great (we love it), but sometimes it is far too easy to stay in unless you have something already in the calendar (especially during the winter). Go and do!

What are your Easter weekend plans? I’m working on Saturday, but I have Sunday off!

// Need some last minute inspiration for an Easter outfit? Anna’s pastel look is perfect for spring! Easter in Chicago is generally cold, so buying a special spring dress wasn’t always practical, but that all changes for me living in Nashville!

// April has become one of my favorite months. Our anniversary is on the 12th and generally we go on vacation or a weekend getaway around that time. I’ll be utilizing Chelsea’s fun list of activities perfect for this time of year. Reading through, I forgot that Pitch Perfect 2 comes out next month! Movie night, anyone?

// I read Kristel’s post, whose favor am I seeking, at just the right moment. As I continue blogging, I want to remember that my value is not contingent on the number of followers. “I had been getting caught up in gaining the favor of the masses and forgetting that I already have the favor of God.”

// A lot of great music came out this week. Death Cab for Cutie, Joy Williams, and Loud Souls have been on repeat! What have you been listening too? I need to dive into Modest Mouse’s new album too.

Happy Weekend, all!

  1. Glad you had fun at the concert! I think the last time we went to a concert was 2012, so it’s been a while! We have a long weekend–strangely enough, we get Monday off instead of Friday.

  2. Oh, that post from Kristel was so sweet to read. Thanks for sharing it–I’d never visited her blog before! Thanks too for including my Easter look. I can’t wait to wear it again this weekend! Hope your guys’ weekend is extra wonderful. <3
