Spring Wedding Attire

Remember when I had mentioned I purchased a dress to wear to a wedding in Chicago? Well, this is it!

Last fall my friend, Lauren, was wearing an awesome gray tunic from Vinnie Louise. The tunic was a perfect mix of casual and cool and when she told me the price tag, I couldn’t believe it! Good quality at an affordable price is often hard to come by. A few days later, Jordan and I spent an afternoon in East Nashville purchasing a few Christmas presents from the Vinnie Louise store before going home for Thanksgiving.

This spring, when it came time to buy an outfit for our friend’s wedding, I immediately thought of VL. Jordan and a friend founded a streetwear clothing company and ran it for five years, so I know how much effort it takes to keep a thing growing. So whenever I am able to buy local and personally support an artist or proprietor, I am all for it!

The weather in Chicago was colder than it was when we took these photos, so on the day of the wedding, I wore navy tights and brown riding boots from J. Crew. I felt really comfortable and put together! A win win.

I can’t wait to style this dress with sandals and an easy braid for summer nights. Despite the long sleeves, the cotton fabric is pretty light and airy.

  1. This is so pretty! I find it hard to dress for spring weddings because it’s always ends up being a little chillier than you want (especially here in the midwest!), but this is a perfect mix of feeling season and event appropriate but also having sleeves 🙂 The high bun adds such a nice elegance to the cool look too.

  2. I am swooning over those red heels! I love the way they pick up the detail in the dress. But I’m sure the tights and boots looked adorable as well. I love dresses that can transition well from one season to another!
